A male and then a female. It is spring a little Southeast of San Antonio. We noticed our Black-Chinned Hummingbirds returned over a week ago. Note the Bluebonnets in the background. The Geraniums look spindly because they miraculously survived the deep freeze we had this winter. Ruby-throated, Rufous, and Buff-Bellied Hummingbirds will pass through here but won't stay the summer. But we'll get a nice population of these little guys, who will do their part to keep the sugar industry busy throughout the fall.
