This video is very low quality...sorry. I was just learning to use this little Flip camcorder thingie I got. It is also unedited and you have to listen to me blabbering away the entire time, but try to just focus on the horse and you will get through it. HAHAH

Annie came to us only a 6 days ago with half her left hoof cut away due to White Line Disease and an abcessed/injured hoof on the right. She was only a week or so away from being shipped off to Mexico or Blue Juiced. Although times are very hard for us right now, I could not turn her away. I find her gratitude and kindness amazing after the hard life she has led in her 6 years on this Earth, and I think once she is no longer lame and has her energy and fitness back, she is gonna be quite a horse! I don't know how long it has been since she has had the opportunity to really get out and move but for a horse that is lame on both legs in the front, she did quite well. She was sore after her little jaunt, but the next day she was fine. She has been on bute and will need it for a while. God Bless all of you who adopt and/or support/sponsor these animals.

  • I was very happy for her! She, like all the others, deserve LIFE. But these days, the lucky ones are few and far between. I pray for them all and thank you for caring about her.

  • I think she WAS surprised...this was her first real turnout in at least 2 years or so, I think. Who knows how long it had been for Annie. This mare is so nice that she makes my mare Avalon (AvieMare) look...umm...well, lets just say cranky. haha I had another word in mind, but Avalon can read my thoughts so the less said the better! Peace & Happy Trails!

  • God Bless YOU for caring enough about the plight of unwanted horses to take the time to look and comment. I will be posting a monthly update about Annie. She is settling in very well in her new home. :)

  • Good for you for giving him his chance. I would have kept Annie forever if not for the fact that I already have my mare Avalon and with two other horses, it's almost impossible to afford another in Southern Cal.

Keep me posted on how your horse does. People saw Annie's foot and ran in the other direction. With healthy diet and exercise, hoof does grow back. The end result is not always known until months or years later, but it does not matter. Every life has a value and purpose.

  • Thank you for your quick reply. She has quite the story. It's people like you that make a difference in these animals lives. I think we are going to buy a horse that just got over white line. He still doesn't have a full range of movement but he's healing very nicely.

  • She is recovering but will take a while to be completely sound, if she can be. She was very abused. I think the best we can hope for is soundness for trail and arena work. Her foot issue was actually the easiest part to deal with. It was completely grown out within 6 months and you can't even tell she had the defect. But her atrophied back, limbs, skeletal system and organs were compromised due to her extreme neglect. She will need 2-3 years I am guessing before we know for sure.

  • She's beautiful! I can feel your happyness radiating off your video for her being turned out for the first time in 2 years! She's great!

  • She IS a beauty! Amazing difference now, she's nearly healed and very happy!

She seems almost surprised here that she's outside and unrestrained, like she's waiting for someone to come and put her back inside. I bet that passed pretty quick. though!

  • God bless you for sharing the good news - and don't worry about the image quality steadicams are very expensive.
