This video shows that a Walther PPS 40 cal has a tendency to jam when 7 rounds are loaded into a new 7 round magazine. The pistol however works fine with 6 rounds in a 7 round magazine.

  • Yes, it sounds like you got some "broken in" mags, mine were definitely new. As an update, now that I have broken in my mags by storing them full of rounds, I am no longer experiencing jams.

  • Interesting. I own a PPS in .40 - it's currently my favorite pistol. I almost always use the 7-round mags, and with approx. 1000 rounds through the gun I've never had a single malfunction. However, I bought most of my mags directly from S&W, and was annoyed that when they arrived, they were un-packaged (no plastic or anything) and appeared possibly used. I wonder if S&W is aware of a mag spring problem & sent me "broken in" mags on purpose. That, or their customer service just sucks shit.
