This is why I look forward to memorial day weekend. Monaco, Indy and Coke 600 in Nascar. Same thing happened later that day with Dale Jr, he was supposed to win, except he ran out of fuel 500 feet short of the finish line. Best racing weekend I've seen.

Dan Wheldon didn't really die. God just wanted Speedway racing lessons.
unfortunately, that means that one of the best drivers in open-wheel motor racing has left this world, and has gone up to race with other former greats. Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark, Ronnie Peterson, Alberto Ascari, Jochen Rindt, and other great drivers who lost their lives doing what their hearts told them to do: race, and race to win.
goodbye, Dan Wheldon. may he rest in peace.
Glad to see he won his second 500 when he did.

Heartbreak for JR, sure. But Dan knew what heartbreak was, coming in second the last 2 years. Finally got the win. JR will get his day, and Rip Dan!
