Hey Michael Forsythe thanks for the 411 on the Deep. They were a great band back in my days of confusion and couldn't afford to buy the album. Now I'm going to seek out their CD and see what else I'm missing from that album. Your right, Deep Purple should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame a long time ago as well as Iron Maiden and so many others. How Hip Hop ever made the Hall is way beyond my comprehension. Thanks again and remember to go Deep,

How Deep Purple is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me. They need to induct Iron Maiden and Deep Purple ASAP!

Deep Purple has covered a lot of tunes (including Neil Diamond's Kentucky Woman). Ritchie has admitted to stealing a lot of riffs from other sources. Moreover he has said Led Zeppelin provided the musical direction for the band and the reason for the Mark II line up. If you can't hear the Zeppelin influence in this track, you must not be listening.Think Kashmir. By the way, I'd take Purple over Led Zep any day. Way more talented overall.

Copying what? Zep. was more like a cover band than producing original lyrics, watch how many songs they've stole. Of course, they improved those songs and were a terrific band on stage, but still.
