Within the past few years social media has brought people into several different protests worldwide, from the Iranian protest to the London riots to the recent BART protests. It is no surprise that YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and and several other have played big roles in protest issues worldwide, but are we seeing a relation between social disparities and the use of social media? Phil Rockstroh, poet, lyricist and philosopher, tells us more.

  • People are talking to complete strangers and finding that they are not alone at being pissed off with the way things are.

  • @44connected imagine if we had the internet during World War 2 and Vietnam, just think of all the lies we have been fed for over 60 years.

There is no longer the 'unseen enemy', we can all see that Muslims or whatever are just normal people like us who love their families and want food on the table, clothes on their bodies and a roof over their heads. There is abundance for all on this planet unfortunately it is tightly held in the hands of few.

Society is much more aware now

I have no hatred towards Jews, nor did I imply any hateful messages in my previous comment. Simply trying to distinguish hatred toward a racist Zionist ideology (anti-Zionism), hatred of Jews, and the misappropriation of the term anti-Semite to mean hatred of Jews, when in fact Semites tribes include the ancient and modern forms of Akkadian, Amharic, Arabic, Aramaic, Ge'ez, Hebrew, Maltese, Phoenician, Tigre and Tigrinya among others.

  • Well I just seen a story on CNN about flash mobs in maryland going around looting stores. I guess that's what the media wants its people to do.
