OUR SITE http://elysianshadows.com IS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED! CHECK US OUT!
The Adventures in Game Development Chapter 14 is finally here. It was postponed a day so that the site would be ready to go. We're going to begin posting development progress on a regular basis. If you want more between videos, our news section will definitely be something to keep up with.
We've been working literally the entire weekend on some of the things shown off here. Peter even stayed over Sunday night ontop of Friday and Saturday. I remember waking up in 2 hour intervals and seeing him working on something with Lua or another.
I've been working on getting everything back on Dreamcast (done!) as well as finishing up the delegation of Lua access to the engine. We now use toLua++ (now that I got it on DC). MarauderIIC has been working on NPCs (actions and such) and has begun restructuring the player and NPC systems. Marcel made some pretty substantial progress on his editor. He needs to add several things though, we're making 2 new layers for our maps. And it's more important now that we have artists that are actually working. Peter has been... Peter. Look at that Lua.
Kleithap has been working his ass off trying to get the site done by this weekend. He's an awesome team member. Even the site is indie to the core. DJ Yoshi (Chris) has been working on making new player sprites and animations.
We recruited Jools64 as a new pixel/tile artist, and he's been doing amazing work. He created a very sexy spritesheet, but it was after most of this chapter had been recorded. You'll see it next time. He and LusikkaMage are collaborating tiles.
The song at the very beginning is called "NCounter" and is our battle theme made by mr.Jin/cypher.
The song at the end is "Waking Up" by Julien-K. Yes, it's from Shadow the Hedgehog.
As I've said, though. If you want the latest on art, music, programming, scripting, or anything project-relevant, every team member has access to our news system and will (hopefully) be updating regularly.
Thanks, enjoy, and go here: http://elysianshadows.com !
How did you build lua 5.1 for dreamcast(kos) ?
I can't figure out how to do it.

If you add the files to your makefile, it should compile fine. I don't recall having to screw with anything special to get it to compile. You will have to switch up your makefile if you want a statically linked Dreamcast library (recommended) for it, though.

If you create two items and store their indices, then remove the first item. Wouldn't that invalidate the second index, since the second item is now the first item in the vector?
Maybe you're storing references to the items themselves, but I just thought I'd mention it. :)
Anyway, great videos, love watching them.
Keep it up! :)

Yeah, you're right. It's references to items that are being returned. Each reference has an index which corresponds to an item type in an array of every item. It was so hard to explain that in the vid. =/
