im doing tis 4 my piano grade 5 and it sounds sooo funny with words
The point of the song is NOT to bash God. The point of this song is to show that the soloist singing, Sportin' Life, is a very different character from Porgy, which they are the foils of each other, and if you were to see the full opera, you'd find out that Bess has to choose between Sportin' Life and Porgy in the end.
