This is Pink Floyd's "Echoes" from the album "Meddle" played by cover band "The Australian Pink Floyd Show" (the best I've ever heard). I put some pics in the background. This is not the complete version but the main part....Enjoy!
Part 1 of 2

Lyrics:
Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine.

And no-one called us to the land
And no-one knows the wheres or whys
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can

And no-one calls us to move on
And no-one forces down our eyes
And no-one speaks and no-one tries
And no-one flies around the sun

Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes
inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning

And no-one sings me lullabies
And no-one makes me close my eyes
And so I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky

  • the keyboarder really sucks. fucking bad sound. no leslie in the piano and he really plays bad. the beginning sounds like a japaneese folk song and not like richard wright! Its the worst pink floyd cover i ever heard.

  • fucking australian pinkfloyd destroys' real Pink Foyd thats fucking sad

  • @Shadowpillar

I find the Meddle version much better than Live at Pompeii.

I agree with you about tribute bands though, they lack the heart and soul of the originals.

  • Check out Wall of Echoes version, which is the full, nearly twenty minute version of "Echoes."

  • @Shadowpillar Its always a great song played by Real pinkfloyd

  • Will them see in three weeks,YEEESSSS!!

  • I just saw them in Montreal for the second time...will be back for the 3D/Quad shows next year!. Once again, I was moved to tears by the awesome power of this band, and THIS TIME, THEY PLAYED ECHOES!!! I don't care that it's not Floyd playing the music. The objective of this show is totally different than a PF live performance of their time. They've mastered every single track, and the lights show is unbelievably spectacular.

Now...where does this recording come from?

  • @Shadowpillar The POMPEII version is amazing

  • My issue with this song, is that it lacks the soul and feel of the original, which the original lineup was able to pull off, because they created it from their own hearts and souls. To me, this is an attempted reproduction of something great. Good effort, but they're trying too hard to be something they're not. Which is something that has always irked me about tribute bands.

Go watch the live in pompeii version of this song, which to me is the best version of the song.

  • Seeing them Oct 1st in Phoenix, and then a month later seeing the Waters preform the wall... The year of Floyd! -Happiness is not pleasure, it is victory!

  • cant wait to see them at 8 February in Vienna, but 65 Euros for a tickett is a bit much, anyway the music and feelings are worth it^^ iv seen the real Floyd on Pulse tour and also Waters, so im pretty curious^^

  • agreed people need to write their own music.

  • i saw these guys in july in norwich&was blown away ok yes they are a tribute band but these guys have done their homework n it shows i will definatley see them again. they r playing music and musicians they respect and they r very talented when i sw them they played for 2 and a half hrs and they got a standing ovation at the end if u havent seen them live then dont slate them go see them n see for yourself.

  • Saw them playing in Ayr - was totally unimpressed. Note perfect sounds, big lights etc, but something was missing - i much preferred seeing MacFloyd playing (awesome in fact). Only ever be one Floyd, but great to have these classic songs kept alive by quality surrogate bands.

  • what makes the original pink floyd special is not playing this song but creating it. Ausies r doing a good job but they're only playing music that was already written

  • This is great...aside from the quality of the recording, the cover is awesome! Good work...
