I had to make this audio montage of clips from Blair's resignation speech to the Madonna track for a radio news programme, and I wondered how it would look with the pictures. Apologies for a couple of choppy edits. I must get a better editor.

  • Thank you Tony Blair for standing with the United States...we greatly appreciate it. Thank you for being true to your convictions that freedom for all people is more important than political correctness or political apathy. Thank you for standing up for what is right. May God bless you.

  • He said it was his duty to 'put the country first' Can you believe this twat? I mean, is he that unaware of his own bullshit? He was mentally ill.

  • Tony is the person of poor social background who wanted to become a legend, breaking international law, attacking sovereign nation causing enormous suffering and anguish of Iraqi people,he is a war criminal and must be brought to justice.

  • @newall7 Do you Brits have any revenge plans for this CUNT? He deserves it . . . He's no different to any other leader complicit with mass murder / war crimes & siding against hid own people. My opening question is so ironic . . . OF COURSE there are no plans to punish this prick. There never are. Somehow, they always get away with it. LOL, LOL, LOL . . . All you can do is call him a CUNT and feel good about it. That's the extent of revenge with people like him

  • @luyben12 In 1994 Gordon Brown and Tony Blair agreed that Blair should stand for the Labour Party leadership, but that eventually Blair would resign in favour of Brown. Around 2004, I think, Brown started pressuring him to resign as Prime Minister and party leader, but Blair didn't trust Brown to continue public-sector reform; so he refused. In 2006, Blair agreed to step down in 2007, his popularity having declined since the 2003 invasion of Iraq (though he had won the 2005 election).

  • I'm now a junior doctor within our great NHS - I want to say that Tony Blair was the best Prime Minister this country has ever had! Amazing man who did amazing things to this country. I just hope labour wins the general election May 2010
