(xp pro can)
but the computer can use all 4 cores in other applications. also make one core run this program and another core run that programe.

Im sorry but Im afraid you can. I think I covered this in an earlier comment but versions of Windows XP SP2 and higher were designed to recognize quad core processes. Running a Quad Core under earlier versions of XP is quite possible as well but, initially, under these older versions it may not be recognized as one.
