2011 1.1 liter hyundai i10

Bad:
The biggest bad is they replaced the 1.2 liter kappa engine which is stronger lighter and more gas efficient with the 1.1 liter engine
No airbags
no anti lock brakes, traction control, or stability control
had to add the rear spoiler for an additional $200
dealer has lousy customer service
they removed the standard side mirror repeaters, rear spoiler with third break light, rear passenger headrest for preventing whiplash, they also removed the 60/40 split option on the back seats
no digital clock display on the dashboard
the steering wheels is this cheap plastic that feels like sandpaper so I recently spent $20 on a good leather cover
i bought it at Mike's Ride for Fun at the Alabang Motor Center
there is no lumbar support and the seats are as hard as rock so i dont recommend it for long trips
after an hour, your lower back and butt are in excruciating pain
but it is great for short trips to the sari sari store

So they really removed everything that made the car great in earlier versions to keep it from taking market share from the Hyundai Accent and reduced the price by 20,000 pesos /$500

the proper way to maintain the Accent marketshare is to add more features to that lineup instead of destryong the i10
but no ones listen to me because i am just a stupid houseboy
who knows, the next version they may take away the power windows and door locks and reduce the price by 2,000 pesos/$50

Good:
price is 553,000 pesos/$12,000
automatic, power windows, power door locks, power side mirrors, ac
extended warranty 5 years 100,000 km
24/7 road side assistance as long as you own the car
easy to park and easy to get in and out of tight spaces
very fuel efficient your mileage may vary
gasoline in the Philippines is 20% more expensive compared to the states so speding $400 a month on gas is normal
new euro styling with fog lights

Conclusion:
If you want to save money on gas this is the right car to get. With Toll road fees increasing 260% every year, I needed to reduce the money I spend on gas. I drive the i10 everyday and I now spend $35 a week on gas versus $100 a week using the Toyota Fortuner. I like how it is easy to park and get in and out of tight spaces quickly. Especially when I drive in Manilla where the roads and parking spaces are small, narrow, and crowded. I also like the new European styling. When people look at it, it reminds them of a mini cooper. I wish the car had at least one airbag but I had to get a second car because my little boy is starting school and bebotsonly.com is now public. We needed a second car asap. Like I said this care is ideal for daily commutes and short trips. But for long trips, I am glad we have the Fortuner to use. If you have the luxury of time, I would wait until they have a version with the safety features standard.

Alternative:
The suzuki celerio is a good alternative for the same price with dual airbags and anti lock brakes/brake assist distribution. It also gets better fuel efficiency because of the smaller 1 liter engine. The only problem is that the warranty is only 3 years and does not come with 24/7 road side assistance. The deal breaker for me is the celerio's ugly front grill design. It hurts my eyes everytime I look at it. The color i always see on the road for the celerio is this weird nail polish texture pinkish color. Makes me feel sorry for the person driving it.

  • @bebotsonly 100% thats just greedy

  • @MrCivichatchback ok the greatest cars honda ever made is the 1991 integra LS and the acura nsx but too bad they dont make them anymore so they can sell ugly cars like the RDX

  • @bebotsonly Yeah a transmission going out is so much worse than Toyota punching it's own gas, or Hyundai catching fire! Honda makes the best cars I have ever found. Sorry you had a bad experience. All car brands have things they need to work through. Don't you see how all the other cars copy Honda and Acura? They're Boss. And Hyundai truly sucks! SORRY!!

  • @mustang633NY yes for some reason people think i am still in america but the last care i owned in america was a 2007 AWD escalade i could not ship it here because of the 100% TAX

  • @bebotsonly didnt know it was on an island at first.... oops

I get ticked off at people i know here in the USA for buying such cars because of the fatal car wrecks i see on the news are most often small cars or from people racing at high speeds...

  • @bebotsonly i thought by the look of the video that it might be in a more traditional country... not on your island... no diss but i saw this video right after several teenaged kids died in small cars, one of which I am sure that if they were driving normal sized American car the person would have walked away.

  • @MrCivichatchback yes you are right its my fault i purchased the wrong year next time i will make sure that i get the right year and model because mistakes like this can kill you on the road

  • @MrCivichatchback or Daiwoo

  • @bebotsonly Just because there were a year or two where they had a couple bad transmissions does not mean they're as trashy as Hyundai or Kia

  • @MrCivichatchback youtube will not allow me to post link but google 2001 honda accord transmission silent recall and it will lead you to articles regarding the class action lawsuit and how the transmission would jerk into gear and cause accidents during failure
