It's been almost three decades since HIV/AIDS emerged as a threat to global health. Although the United Nations' Program on AIDS (UNAIDS) reports a decrease in the rate of new infections, the number of people living with HIV or AIDS has grown to more than 33 million, in part due to increased access to anti-retroviral drugs. VOA's Laurel Bowman takes a look at where we've been and where we are headed in treatment for HIV/AIDS.
