Mr. Gryce is right, he clearly doesn't know the youth of the day; he wasn't smart enough to figure one of the kids had been bullied into carrying the others' cigarettes, even after he insisted he was just there to take a message. Nor did he notice (most of the time) when all the other boys were laughing at what he said!
