UPDATE: Wow! over 7K views! You guys are awesome.
****I'll try to respond faster now. I never anticipated this much responses to my vid!***

This tutorial is mainly about setting up your EasyCAP on your mac software-wise. For cable setup all you need is to just plug in the S-Video cable to the easycap and for audio, plug the red/white RCA to your MacBook's LINE-IN port by using a 3.5mm (headphone port) to RCA adaptor. Make sure to select LINE-IN in audio source when recording.

Decided to do a more up-to-date tutorial (this time with sound, yay!)

This is to show how to use EasyCAP on a Macintosh computer.

  • Thanks for watching the video! I really appreciate it.Unfortunately, this was done more than a year ago and my setup has changed drastically.

    For tips on cables:

I purchased a S-Video cable. I hooked it up to my easycap's S-Video port then hooked the audio (red/white) cables to a 3.5mm->RCA cable which was connected to my MacBook's LINE-IN port.

    That's pretty much it.

Sorry I haven't been responding, most of the answers you'll find by watching the video or reading the comments. Thanks :)

  • Hey Neshyd, I started recording with the easycap and the easycapviewer software. I can get decent picture quality and sound, but are there any extra tips to get a better picture quality?

  • @serginietor Not that I know of... the only way is to get a better capture card :)
