PBR: You're so lucky Victreebel!

A Japanese opponent. I didn't expect that he would lead with Exeggutor because he has a whole bunch of weaknesses. Very unfortunante for Gastrodon, since my pokémon can't switch in against Exeggutor.

When Japanese opponents use a Gyarados, they EV train them a lot in speed, since they are very likely faster than my Salamences(Swapping team and Iron Defense Mence). This Gyarados proved me wrong, because Chimchar was faster than his Gyarados and wasn't able to encore something.

Victreebel did very well here and fortunantly, Typhlosion wasn't holding a Lum Berry. That means she was able to set up. She finished off Typhlosion with relative ease, but got paralyzed by Thunder Wave. Because Japanese people are smart, I didn't directly use the Surprise Attack again. However that Salamence attacked anyway, but missed the Fire Blast. After Salamence was away, the opponent gave up.

I used Cresselia, Gastrodon, Chimchar(Kingkong) and Victreebel(Victoria). The opponent used Typhlosion, Exeggutor, Gyarados and Salamence.

Is there a particular strategy for using Chimchar, or do you just like the Pokemon unevolved?

Not really. He just benefit of the sun and when opponents try to set up he can encore them.

Actually, I like Chimchar way more than his evolved forms.

Exeggutor is awesome! With a Sash, it tempts foes into attacking rather than using Taunt etc, so it can set up Sunny Day etc. and then use it as bait, and Protect. :P
