Alright so I figured I'd throw a video up of me messing around. There is no set tempo, no click track, and no audio running through those headphones, I just used 'em for hearing protection.
I know the audio on this video is complete bollocks, I apologize. The china dang near kills the camera mic. I do have drum mics and a pretty killer recording rig, but this computer refuses to overlay audio and video anymore. Hopefully that will be remedied soon with my new laptop. For now, enjoy really RAW audio.

  • that was pretty sick.i have a question, is that a different tom holder then the STM dw uses?and im getting a zil bel in a few weeks and i know a felt goes underneath it but does a felt go above cause then you might not be able to tighten it?

  • Yeah my DWs were "born" in 1994 when they came standard with RIMS mounting. And yes, I put felt on either side of my zil. I like it tight, because when you blast it won't move around too much. resonation is not effected.

  • Great playing man, keep it up!

  • Ugh - completely forgot to ask. How are you finding the DW Bronze snare? I'm thinking pretty seriously about one but can only hear samples on the net, there aren't any of these snares in NZ for me to try. Are you getting that awesome Abe Cunningham/Digital Bath sound out of it?

  • The Solid Shell bronze is one of the most versitle metal snares I have ever played. The sound really depends on the head. Personally I tune mine very high and very tightly, but not enough to choke it. I love that snare. It weighs about 25 pounds though.

  • Thank you very much!
