@ImAddictedToTKD Yes it is called the American Taekwondo Association. Hence why it can't claim the martial art is a mixture of Hapkido, Jujitsu, Karate, etc. It's just Taekwondo

A little story.. Back in the mid-late 80's.. A group of Black Belts were in Little Rock for Nationals.. As they walked from the convention center to their hotel... They were jumped and got a good beating.. The writing is on the wall for for every MA student to look at their training and ask questions... It took me over a decade with the ATA to get tired of the politics

ATA (Songahm Tae Kwon Do) is a combination of Hapkido, Jujitsu, Karate, and Tae Kwon Do. Calling it Karate is not that off, though ultimately wrong. As far as the boards go... yes they are plastic.. but they are harder to break than your standard wooden board. Wooden boards break anywhere you hit them with speed and power and technique... the plastics boards only break if you hit the center. Therefore enhancing concentration and focus.
No, it's just TKD. It is NOT a mix of martial arts and has never been claimed to be such.
