I was just thinking after watch this part of the video about how the selfish gene is dependent on reciprocal altruism to survive kinda actually explains to me the reason why people can be superficial....

I am an immigrant myself and not many countries apart from the US have this great gesture.

So you will accept people that broke into your house, raided your fridge in slept on your beds to stay? Sure you will. First you start practising your crazy ideas with yourself then start criticising others.

Your response just showed how ignorant and narrow minded you are. How old are you, ten? Haven't seen the world much, have you? They have the lottery system IN ADDITION to the system where they select the people who are going to make a contribution. It is to give less fortunate a legal chance of becoming citizens even if they do not qualify for the regular types of immigration.

Being welcome in a country isn't the same as being legally allowed to be there, how about socially? A lot of people are almost instinctively unkind or abrasive to foreign people, or much more likely to help out someone born there. And a lottery? That's absolutely ridiculous, rather than going through applicants to find the people who would make a decent contribution to a community like a doctor, they randomly select people looking for free rides and duke it to them. Great system.
