We played this in school in the mmid 80 but ours wasn't in color, all green on those old one piece computers. My settlers always died of malnutrition lol. The game was on a gigantic square floppy disc back then, about the size of a dish lol

Personally, I think you didn't buy enough food.

AAH! So funny, our school in '93 had about thirty Apple IIs with the monochrome monitor and a thing on the wall filled with those huge floppy disks. Computer time was mental, 26 kids squabbling over one disk; Oregon Trail. This game was like the pinnacle of our day.

So you set out on April Fool's Day.

Sometimes, Aunt Rebecca hangs out around Chimney Rock, too.

I loved this game when I was in school. Now, I work for a school system, and years ago we boxed up our AppleIIe's and AppleIIgs's..... but if you pull one out of storage, they STILL WORK. Including those old Oregon Trail disks. NICE! Amazing machines, terrific game. Farmer mode on this game is still hard, I think that it's not possible to guarantee a win on that setting no matter how good you are at it, there's always a chance to lose even if you make no mistakes.

I actually dug up an Apple IIe with a monochrome monitor when I was in high school. It was great. We didn't have any game disks, but we dicked around satisfactorily. Unfortunately, some silly people who didn't know what an old computer looked like poked around in it and broke it. I fixed it, but then they broke it again -- for good. Such a shame.
