grunt units have a set criteria to become an NCO, there's more and more annual qualifications that I cant list here and they get harder with rank
we've done away with the Marine raiders because they went against the USMC's policy on standardization. Im not entirely for that policy since Id like to see mountain warfare experts and paratroops within the Corps but what can I do.
i can only think of 2-3 badges that we're allowed to wear on the cammies and theyre all recon related
@Sturmmann Dude, seriously.....I would totally run out of character space if I listed what's in the EIB curriculum, that is NOT in the MCSOI! Suffice it to say, a lot of this stuff infantry soldiers know as well. We're just not required to be "expert" on all of it. And, if Marines have no need for such badges, why do they cross branch to go to Ranger and Airborne schools? I have mad respect for Marines, but a lot of you guys dis the Army like ya read about! Unnecessary. Infantry is Infantry!
@Sturmmann I suggest you either Google EIB, or go to the Army Study Guide website and search EIB. You have to meet certain and STRICT requirements, before you're even considered! The actual testing itself is not easy! There are a plethora of stations and you must "GO" on every one of them! I highly doubt Marines know all of the tasks that EIB candidates are tested on, since the respective branches have different EQ and MS's.
@lvrpatriot01
true to some point ill admit that
but they arent equal to one another in quality just based on the boy scout badges you can earn

@Sahbomnim
I guarantee you a Marine infantryman knows all of these things and then some before his first deployment.
We're required to know this to pick up rank, be proficient at our billets....
hell, some of this stuff looks like what we did in bootcamp, and got expert on at the school of infantry before even getting to our units
