Specifically focuses on UK issue Silva (used in the example) and Suunto compasses. Plotting, traveling, sighting and so forth. See part two for tips on night use of surplus, or non-radioluminescent baseplate compasses.

  • These videos are awsome, but you sound like dave chapelle when hes the news reporter and talking like hes white.

I enjoy all your videos though. good stuff.

  • @streetpunk99 That is the first time I have heard that. Told the wife. She'll love it, even if she doesn't agree.

  • I really enjoy your navigation videos. I'd like to learn more about the subject; are there any good books on the subject that you'd recommend?

  • @12345AaronS None that I really like. Hence, much of the reason I made the videos. I'd try to get out and use your nav skills. Just start by using the compass when talking walks around town.

We have nav classes I like locally (Kansas/Missouri/Oklahoma) but many others are odd. Orienteering, or geocacheing people are pretty oriented to their games, so teach... oddly. But maybe worth it, and everyone has instruction in those areas.

  • hi guys we get issued with these in brit army but a lot of us love the Cammenga, it's a lot more robust and sometime we need to call up you yanks to give support fire power & the cammenga has the Milatary degrees appropriate which ours don't, and + you dont have the same tilt declination problems, as a compass alone the cammenga is unrivaled, but when you have to speed read & accuracy on a map the protractor compass as in the silva is better, you take your choice i guess.

  • thats a damed good looking compass!
