ripstop parachute stuff? polyurethane and catalyst? looks very easy to patch just wet down a patch and let her dry?

interresting, I would never do such thing to my carbon fiber one but sometimes we have no choice right, how heavy is this thing?

You obviously didn't want the kayak anymore. I'd have parted with a few quid for it!

True - animal hide (walrus, etc) is authentic. But skins tend to soften with water exposure over time; they tighten up when dry, but if your goal is to paddle for a long period of time, stick to the synthetics.

The skin is 8 oz. ballistic nylon sealed with a two-part polyurethane.
