The Maharishi Song / Pre-Sexy Sadie

This is a home tape recording by John Lennon recorded in 1968 after the Beatles' trip to Rishikesh,India.
It was recorded before the idea of Sexy Sadie came up...
However in this 'song' John is half-talking,half-singing about his impressions of his trip to India and of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Sexy Sadie was about the Maharishi harrassing the beautiful women invited to his camp.

Lennon realised that he was just using his position, to get laid, like any celebrity..............

Sexy Sadie originally meant "Maharishi, what have you done - you've made a fool of everyone"

But they changed the lyrics, because of fears of legal action.

For those wondering when this song/improvisation was recorded. It comes from a tape (Circa April 1969) that features an early rendition of "Woman is the N... of the World" (see Yoko's interview in Nova Magazine Mar 69), "I Want You" (not beatle version), "The Maharishi Song", "The Dream We Dream Together" (not bootlegged) and "Do You Remember" (also not bootlegged). Also, referenced on this tape is their visit to Paris (17 Mar 69) and their leather outfits they purchased.

ALLEGEDLY. It was later discovered that John's lackey, I can't remember his name at the moment, wanted to go home already and was losing his control over John and became jealous of the Maharishi. Read Pattie Boyd's book and the other bios which shed light on this subject. I don't think Maharishi was above board but the allegations at that time were just 1 piece of gossip they all decided to think was true without any proof. The females all said nothing happened.
