@lolz976 no thats actually the whistle from the 700, the only reason it sounds different was because of the camera footage
-
jrahrig filmed this
-
@PereMarquette1223 2012!!! that's gona take for ever!
-
is that the original whistle on the 756? sounds way off
-
@PereMarquette1223 I Haven't been able to find to much. Click the load more suggestions button on this page and click the 1991 NHRS convention video. If the quality is too low, then click on the one that shows NKP 765 and PM 1225 running side-by-side in Huntington, WV. That video is of better quality. Until this NHRS convention, I don't think that the 1225 did too much excursions.

@Kleman09 but can 765 operating further than 2020?
-
@PereMarquette1223 any video of 1225 in 1988-90 and 92-98?
-
@Strasburg1991 No, should be back by 2012, she has been running continuously for over 15 though before her rebuild (1988-2009).
-
Four years. If work goes ahead of schedual then 3 and a half years. But Im shure they want to make her as close to new as possible so my guess is really 4 and a half to five years.

@Kleman09 how long will 1225 be out 15 years?
Is she a coal burner?

@pianomanmaestro Hey thanks!
I'm not expert, but I doubt either of them would ever get down there. 1225 is mostly captive in Michigan, they have a really good relationship with the shortline this trip was operated over. 765 is in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I know they're always working to get it in tip-top shape for mainline trips. If either of them ever got down there, it'd be her. But UP only allows UP engines, so it's kinda doubtful. :(
