  • love it or hate it, you still have to admire its +9000rpm redline.

If you don't, then you mind as well punch a baby.

  • German work at its finest. It took the Japanese to perfect an allready perfect kick ass motor. Rotary head forever, 13b, 750 holly carbs and hot coils make 282 hp. I love to dog mustangs. they never see it coming. 1981 1st gen.1.3 vs 5.O. bring it. Thanks for the cash from all you 289, and up.

  • this my friends run 787b's rx7 rx8 many many mazda thts y they go zoom zoom

  • @pillsburydoughboy26 actually 10,000rpm redline. Fuji racing actually plans to have a 13K rev limit on their 13B miata. Rotaries like to rev and their design makes them more reliable at high RPM than piston engines, which are likely to shake themselves to peices. The weak point in rotaries are the seals which have gotten drasticly better in the last few years with new materials

  • @justinbeez you have not look around on youtube much... there are a lot of 20b making over 1k hp

  • Great motor expensive with the apex seals fail though. that cut is real night to have

  • how do those seals on the ends hold up,what are they made out of? how does the pressure not leak out behind or in front of it? i dont understand how these engines work at all lol

  • OMG!!!!!! triple turbos, huge fuckin intake manifold, that thing is a fucking BEAST, i cant believe those ceramic seals can even hold up to that power. I wonder if he looked into the new apex seals made by Esmeril Racing, made for the rx8, but im sure they can custom make some for the 20B. theyre near impossible to break and will warp, instead of falling apart into pieces fucking up everything, all you need to do is replace the seals if you get a little too much detonation. some crazy alloy.

  • Yeah its a 2j.

    He's got a 20b that howls past 900.

Rotormaster 20B GT55 1400HP DYNO PULL is the title .lokk it up and you'll be suprised. Theres heaps of stuff from them.

He also runs Gasmotorsport which is linked (I think( to Titan in the US.

  • i wish we had rotary shops like that haha, damnnnnnn. what engine swap did he choose for the celica? thats like a 2JZ madness swap right there. even a properly built and tuned rb26det with a t88 can make serious power. its already a given its a piston engine, cause i havent heard of a rotary ever putting out that much, even a 20B turboed can only put out like 900hp

  • I had mine built by Rotormaster in sydney.

Joe and the boys do a great job.

There are plenty of Rotor shops in Australia that know what they are doing but I went with R/M cause Joe builds, tune, and drive's a 6.7 sec rx7 and his low 6 sec (near or over 2000hp) celica. Both full drag cars obviously, but the choice was based on reputation and the ability to tune either a piston or rotor engine to mad power and still be reliable.

  • Haha yea. Ive seen people also run pig rich on rotaries due to losing their engine. but then their spark plugs get all drenched and theyre wondering why the engine is skipping a beat until they find out they were having misfires : / takes time to find the sweet spot on the AFRs. Theres not a lot of people that know how to care for rotaries, like i live in O.C. California and ive only heard of one shop that has a reputation for workin with these.
