@Haukenslush This is actually called a shelf cloud. It is developed as cool air, contained in the storm's downdraft surges toward the surface and undercuts the warm, moist air in the storms updraft. The cool air lifts the warm moist air, causing it to condense and create a cloud (shelf) The ripples or rolls are formed due to wind shear which is air that is increasing and veering (rotating clockwise) with height into the atmosphere.
