  • This strip thing looks easy and looks like it won't leave a bump. I am going to check out your website now. Thanks for sharing! I, too will look for your book.

  • @Seidz4 Thank you! You can find the book on Amazon or BookDepository [dot] com for international orders :)

  • thank you, thank you! I always wondered what you did with the sashing-if you put batting in it or not. This explains it, and I am going to try it. thnaks again. I'll be looking for your book as well.

  • @upwards11 Well, there are lots of methods of doing quilt-as-you-go and some add batting but our method doesn't and we love how simple it is ;)

I hope you like how it works and let me know if you need any help, okay? Marguerita

  • This is gorgeous! I have only quilted by hand before, but this makes me want to get to know my sewing machine better.

  • @MoonbridgeBooks Ooooohhhh, don't get me started on sewing machines (especially the OLD ones)- I LOVE them! I have started collecting them and even wrote about them on Instructables. Dust off that machine and have some fun!

  • nice, gorgeous, fantastic!!! i like it so much!!

  • @Justme293 i think that they simply add a strip to each side seperatly... i just don't know exactly how they "join the strips together"... watch it and you'll see what i mean??

  • @Justme293 The sashing is a whole chapter in the book so this video just gives a short overview of how it looks when it's done and how quickly it goes once you've studied the technique. If you can, see if your local library has the book or if they can borrow it from another library and you'll see the many steps for sashing a quilt = I hope you like it :)

  • I am not understanding the step where you attach the sashing. Is the sashing strip folded in half or what do you do with the raw edges?

  • I'm still amazed at how awesome these look with all the wild looking patterns and prints I would never think to buy. I think I might make a simple "granny quilt" with the red and white triangle squares pattern. I had one once and it was my favorite blanket/ bed cover. It was made from old cotton so it eventually wore out and fell apart.

  • When you sew the pieces together with the decorative stitching do you put the little pieces right sides together, or do you lay them flat side by side?
