This interview with Aaron T. Beck, M.D., took place on December 15, 1990. The interview was conducted by Michael Yapko, Ph.D. (www.yapko.com) and was published in the Summer 1991 Issue of the Erickson Foundation Newsletter (www.erickson-foundation.org) . In the first half of the interview Dr. Beck provides a detailed, personal account on his background including how he was originally trained in psychoanalysis in the 1950s, and how he transitioned from psychoanalysis to developing Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Beck explains how he went about developing and refining cognitive behavioral therapy / CBT / Cognitive Therapy, by creating Cognitive Therapy models for different disorders. In the second half of the interview Dr. Beck and Dr. Yapko discuss the clinical applications of hypnosis, and then compare Ericksonian Hypnosis to Cognitive Therapy in the treatment of depression and comorbid disorders.   • This is great. It's a joy to hear Dr. Beck speak, and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be that much material available on youtube of this kind.
