Continental Airlines - one good reason not to fly with them

Why I will never, ever fly with Continental Airlines ~ sewage overflow problem ~ not because the problem happened in the first place, but after an overnight emergency landing in Ireland, passengers were put on the same plane and exactly the same problem started happening again just after take-off, and instead of turning the flight around straight away, it was decided to keep going, 7 hours, and to add insult to injury, passengers were not refunded their entire airfare but only given a $500 voucher, according to the news story. What's more, the airline was negligent by breaching international food service standards by serving up food to passengers in such an environment, and told them to eat as little as possible and "try to control what comes out your other end". We can only hope some serious lawsuits come out of this, and Continental Airlines is made to pay up big time, and adequately compensates passengers who were made to endure 7 hours locked in a plane next to stinkin' sewage. The plane should have been turned around the moment sewage started leaking again shortly after take-off in Ireland. Airline executives' heads must roll over this pathetic episode to ensure this kind of thing never happens again. Freaky !!

@pete5668 This is similar to hiring an electrician to fix a few broken outlets, being charged $300 for the job and it takes several hours, but you soon find that the outlets are still broken! What the hell is the point of diverting a flight due to mechanical problem if they're not going to fix the plane??? Mechanics who do not test their repairs are about as useful as a laptop case with a magnetic clasp.

@Keithamootho but they had a freaking day to fix it. Isn't it reasonable to expect it to be fixed after waiting that long specifically for "repairs"??? If the mechanics are working on the toilets, after they make a repair, they should test them by trying to flush a wad of toilet paper. If it doesn't flush try again Jack. It's not rocket science. It would be like if you took something to the repair shop, waited 5 hours and they told you they were done and it was still broken!!!

@spikeokc Why wasn't this "strip" found by the inspectors that check the runway prior to a takeoff of the Concorde? That is standard procedure for a Concorde since it's design left it's fuel tanks and engines very susceptible to any foreign objects. That's if anything you claim is true, you being a pissed off union clown who will believe anything about the company that obviously fired you.
