Amy Smith of MIT's D-lab was at our offices in Haiti this past spring with her student Kofi Taha. They built a quick mockup of the solar skylight (seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS3764DmIP4 ) up our roof using a cardboard box, lamina, tape, a water bottle and silicone caulk.

It's a clever invention and considerate of you to think of this, but materials are difficult to come by in Haiti please understand that people may not want to drill holes in their roof.
