Wild Wild West Fest Pueblo, Colorado May 15, 2009 Part 2 Of 3

This week from May 13th through the 17th - 2009
is Wild Wild West Fest here in the Pueblo, Colorado
area. Events happening this week for the entire family
from Professional Bull Riding, to Cookoffs, The festival
will culminate with a the Ford F150 Invitational
Presented by Copenhagen Bull Riding event scheduled
for Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17.

The festival will be held throughout the Pueblo
community with the majority of the events centered
on the Riverwalk and the Union Avenue Historic
District. Events throughout the 5-day festival will
be hosted by community nonprofit organizations
and the Wild Wild West Fest Committee. All money
raised during this time will go directly back to
all of the nonprofits involved. Some of the events
you can participate in include the Fan Zone, Ring
of Honor ceremony and concert, parade, carnival
rides, street vendors, team roping and barrel
racing competitions, a fun run and walk, Mercado
(Mexican Market), chuck wagon lunches, pancake
breakfasts, a kayak rodeo, a horse shoe throwing
contest, pueblo memorial airport fly-in along with
some Duck Racing on the Historic Arkasas Riverwalk
of Pueblo, Colorado and much more!

at the Colorado State Fairgrounds.

What a disappointment. I took my family to this event on Sunday afternoon (when working families can) and at 2pm businesses were closing up, putting their goods away. There was nothing for my children to learn from other than a bunch of businesses selling their products. I could have gone to a flea market and showed them capitalism at work.
