A carving board is not necessary when attempting to carve on a snowboard, but it's important to remember to keep 75 percent of one's body weight on the front foot. Create trenches while carving on a snowboard with help from the manager of a sport shop in this free video on snowboarding tips.

  • my parents don't allow me to snowboard but i can snowboard:-D

  • i'm afraid I have to tell you that this is just plainly wrong. let aside that this is not "hard carving" in any meaning of the word, there is no reason for shifting your weight like 75 percent on the front foot, esp. not on toeside turns. nowhere in the turn.

it is helpful to keep your weight shifted to the front on heelsides, yes, and on toesides you shift it to the back.

that's also the reason why you slide on your toeside.

the rest is about rotation technique, which you don't mention.

  • dude you are so totally clueless. please don't EVER tell people again you can carve, this is just shamefull.

First of all, GET A CAMBERED BOARD.

  • Eh brudda, good try! Check out "Fun with Sando" and if ya want an explanation after that, send me a comment. Good luck and make sure to initiate with some forward pressure, but be ready to have your weight move back throughout the turn. Then, move back towards the front again. let me know what ya think!

  • what is the difference between carving and linking turns?

  • this is not right at all

  • you make it look so easy.
