jeffym, no if we had gone in 1991 it would have just started this quagmire earlier.
And you claim that we had support back then, but that's because it was only to liberate Kuwait, not to invade Iraq.
Look on Youtube for the video of Cheney in 1994 defending the decision not to go into Iraq. He said it like it was. That if we had gone to Baghdad we would have been all alone because none of the Arab forces that fought with us in Kuwait were willing to invade Iraq with us.

MarCavalier did not mention saddam.he said Osama was an asset for the CIA in 60-70(more like 80's) he is correct.although you are not wrong on your iraq claim but i think you confused saddam and osama.

MarCavalier your not right about that at all. The United States and Iraq were once connected in the early 80's. Then when he began killing thousands of innocent with the weapons we sold them we stood back. Binladin had a hand in all terrorist activity. Saddam invited them to his region during that time. In the early 90's the US invaded Iraq and should have finished the job. Instead we backed off even though EVERY other country stood behind us then.
