Well, I do not expect to get to visit my birthplace for some time. Masjid-i-Sulaiman is on my passport as where I was born. Persia, I like to call it. A more ancient name and a bit more romantic.I am English but customs officers still give me a hard look!!!

These are difficult times, it is good to know you are safe in Canada. Try and find the open spaces and mountains that you remember.

I was among the first Americans to go to this village after the Iraq invasion. It's about an hour or so north of Bala Ruz right? There's was a girl there who wrote me a love letter. Her name was Bernar. She lived right next to the girl's school there in town.

Sadly I have no idea where these cines were taken. They would have been to the north of Khanaqin towards the mountains
.I have had many comments from all over the world from folk happy to see their homelands. I have sent copies to posters in the UK
"That is my dad!"some say
The town and refinery I lived in then was flattened during the Iraq/Iran war. Nothing
remains. Hallabje was just up the road.
I am the little boy in shorts.
But we did have a hell of a Buick,
