Hearing on Contractor Performance: A Wackenhut Guard

The Oversight Subcommittee on Government Management, Organization and Procurement holds a hearing, "Federal Contracting: Do Poor Performers Keep Winning?" This hearing will review flaws in federal contracting that allow contractors with poor performance records to either renew existing contracts or receive subsequent contracts with the same or different federal agencies. Although procurement rules require that past performance of contractors be weighed in the selection process, many companies that have experienced serious, documented cost overruns and quality control problems on federal contracts continue to receive new work. Ms. Robin Smith, former Wackenhut security officer at DHS headquarters, testifies under questioning from Subcommittee Chairman Edolphus Towns.

I used to work for Wackenhut ,they know how to make so call promise. I pray that i don't work for them again in my life time. They put their favorites, on good contracts and they give hard time to good and honest employees. It's a company of the joke and they got thrown out of some good contracts and congratulate them for kicking filthy wackenhut out.

I work for Wackenhut and everything you guys say is true we have never had any formal training except for maybe a video or two they really are a joke I have worked for them for 2 years make 7.50 an hour and never have recieved a raise. They are the most crooked company I have ever worked for.

As long as security officers are not paid a professional wage, they will continue to act accordingly. there is no reason why a security company should take anything over 50%of guard wages.
