At the time it was only available on the 17". Now you can get it on the 15" also...

I am getting one, I chose the matte screen, did I make the right choice because I heard that the glossy had a wee bit better display. Also how long did it take to ship to you...if you got it shipped that is.

Any regrets in choosing the 17-inch over the 15-inch? Any regrets getting the anti-glare screen rather than the glossy?

I am really thinking about getting a MacBook Pro 17-inch with a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of RAM, 320GB 7200 rpm and an anti-glare screen.

Sound solid to you man?

That's funny you ask that question. I was in Radio Shack yesterday and they had a net-book up on the counter on display with the smallest screen I had ever seen. Joking with the salesman I told him I would never buy a smaller screen than my 17" Macbook Pro! Spend the extra money and go with the 17" Anti-Glare screen and don't look back, YOU will not be disappointed. Plus you will have a better longer lasting battery!

Hey I was wondering....does the anti-glare display have the same sharpness, contrast, and overall clarity as the glossy screen does?

thanks for letting me know. I'm definitely getting the 17inch ANTI-GLARE one. The glossy has too much reflection. And I've seen some people use them outdoors and they complain about the reflection being worse outside. I'm presenlty working on an old Dell laptop with the matte screen. I enjoy it..and pretty much used to it.

Hmm... I REALLY like the glossy screen because of the great rich colours, but I also REALLY like, and want the anti glare, but when I think "Mac" in my head, I think on the rich great glossy colours, that Apple's Mac's is known for. :( I CAN'T FUCKING CHOOSE!!!!!!!!!

It's pretty close afaik. Of course the glossy display will be a bit better, but not by much. As sharpness concerns, I don't think there's any difference, it's just the contrast that's a bit better on the glossy.

i know that we need to add up few $ for matte display..but my question is..

how good is the matte display ?

Is the colour as sharp as the glossy display or better or not that shap ?
