Pinatisang manok is a Filipino dish that is very similar to tinolang manok. The only difference is that pinatisang manok does not have unripe papaya chunks. But the procedure and the rest of the ingredients are almost the same.

Pinatisang manok is basically just some cut up chicken sautéed in garlic, onion, and ginger. And then it is seasoned heavily with fish sauce and ground pepper. You can basically add as much water as you want. And once again, the combination of fish sauce, ground black pepper, and ginger makes the flavor of this Pinoy recipe awesome. You can never really go wrong with this recipe. It is very easy to follow and very delicious. I love it. In fact, I prefer this better than the tinolang manok. I am never a fan of unripe papaya in soup that's why I cooked this pinatisang manok instead of tinolang manok. Another thing is that I could not find any unripe papaya even at our local Asian store.

This Pinoy recipe, though not as popular as tinolang manok is just as good as tinolang manok. For those like me who does not like unripe papaya in soup, this is the way to go. It's just as good and you really can't tell the difference. The soup goes really well with steamed white rice. Too bad I can't eat white rice right now because of my diabetes. But anyway, pinatisan manok with steamed brown rice is not that bad at all. They just don't blend that good.

Nunnie did not try this Pinoy recipe only because I did not cook enough, lol. Next time though, I won't forget to include the husband .
