  • I thought I had previously commented on this, good to hear your not up yourself too much to admit when there could be an issue riding too close, ride safe

  • @2wheelsteve - I am the first to admit, I got it wrong. Lesson learnt on my part. You can always learn something and with training you move on and develop your training techniques.

  • My point is that instructors can sometimes make bad decisions to and baring in mind this was an approved instructor involved in a police run weekend course. i have since had a k1100lt and am now riding a 2002 k1200rs which i have owned since 2004. This instructor was pushing me to far. There is a fine line between making progress and being reckless which i have learned through 19 years of riding in all weathers across the U.K. you have to ride at your own pace and within your own limits.

  • @BLACKSHACK16 - I know where you are coming from. Been ther done that and got the T shirt. Now get more satisfaction by trying to get the lines right etc. Progress at the speeds I used to do are now a thing of the past. Thanks for the comprehensive posting. It is appreciated.

  • @advancedbiker your welcome mate. that course stands out because i remember thinking all the instructor was doing was showing off. i donnt know if you know the area i,m talking about on the A5 but its fairly dangerous especially down near Bethesda, the bends are really sharp around the side of the mountains. its ok on a blackbird up to a point but my old k100rs was tired even then but she was reliable and went fairly well. Love my k1200rs, plenty of comfort & speed for 2 up touring

  • @BLACKSHACK16 I am a fan of Bikesafe, but I always keep asking myself, are they instructors......I qualified at the no 4 Police regional Driving School and got grade 1 in cars and motorcycles. I then went on to get NVQ and BTEC in teacher, come assessment subjects. Makes a whole lot of difference and changes you approach to training. You have to deliver whatthe client wants, and leave then wanting more. I never get that far down the A5, I always turn off towards Ffestiniog...

  • I'm a new biker and videos like this help me to learn how to deal with the odd things UK roads throw at you at any time. I recently went out followed by an experienced biker who gave me pointers of what I was doing wrong, including riding too close. Then the other day I found out why tailgating is so bad-a driver stopped suddenly in front of me because he was having a row with his missus- had I been closer I would have ended up in his boot! Keep up the good work and ignore the moronic comments.

  • you feel that you need advanced training to ride a bike?

take up golf with the rest of the girls.

  • If you were in a car you would have most likely hit him, but because bikes are more agile so you can avoid things.

    .

  • I guess sometimes the problem with being an instructor (I can only assume as I am not an instructor, yet I have been leading a less confident driving to a destination in the past) is that you are not just driving for yourself, you are driving (or in this case riding) for the "student" also.

Therefore your concentration which would normally being 100% on what you are doing, is less as you are also trying to focus on what the other person is doing aswell...

  • Rural lanes and sheep, deer, foxes anything that has four legs, nightmare!

  • OMG, SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE RIDE ,ITS NOT FUCKIN. NASA. you dont have to overtake, like yer life depended on it

  • Proper back seat driver!

  • @maggotpuke I'm the fucking Dali Lama of fucking riding! don't hit a sheep... whoooo...

  • SURE MAGGOTPUKE, you can call the jedimaster if you want. truth is you probably don't have the certificates to prove it. you know a lot of shitty teenagers say the same thing... well u know up until they crash.

  • I'm young and it is evident in my riding. I'm 17 and have been on the road for 18months now. I've had 4 accidents in this time and I would say 2 of them were 100% my fault and 2 of them were less than 50% my fault. From watching countless numbers of videos I feel my riding has improved before I even get back on the road. Before I would be doing 85mph down a lane with cars on my side of the road, now i will deffinately change my lane position and speed.... These videos really opened my eyes !!!

  • does ANYBODY know why i allways come up behind cars and they brake ,,WHY???? if i suddenly see a bike appear behind be the last thing i do is brake .. also why is it always a woman that pulls out on you? great vid ,we can ALL make mistakes.. ALL !!!
