My school is currently doing this musical. Last week, on the day of opening night we did a cleaner version for a dress rehearsal for the elementary school down the street. Never say the words "who wants free candy?" in a room full of 200 elementary kids...

Yeah, our audience was way more focused on the free candy. We also had to change erection to distraction, and also take out the whole bit about Marigold, and his penis. Sad :(

From performing in 25 annual putnam spelling bee, I found that the audience become more focused on trying to the candy then listening to the lyrics

because this song was the most fun

but the version we had to change erection to distraction, damn catholic school.
