The HP SimpleSave portable Hard Drive is perfect for Plug-and-Play instant Storage and makes Data backup so simple anyone can do it. The included backup Software runs right off the drive. The minute you plug it in to a USB port, it begins backing up your data. Theres no need to install and learn software; its practically hands-free. Even the most disorganized Computer User will love this backup solution because the software finds all your valuable data, no matter where it is on your computer and, after the first backup, it frequently checks for File changes so your backup is always up to date.

Never dropped it, and never let it overheat, yet in LESS than 12 months, this exact drive dropped dead, so the $249 that I paid at Officeworks is a rip-off!
Do not trust this. Definitely quiet, but it has a 2 year warranty, but what use is that when it doesn't last 1 year?!!

Does anyone know what the file system is of this EHD? NTFS or FAT32?

Recently purchased a (2) Terabyte portable hard drive (not this one though) for myself and I have to say it is excellent. I now have all of my TV series, movies and documentaries well organized and now so easily accessible. I paid $150.00 for mine but it was well worth the investment. I also purchased two 400 GB portable hard drives for all my games and software. One serves as the master hard drive and the other is the backup drive,... just in case.
I have eliminated 98% of my DVD's.
SWEET !!!

Hmm I wonder how much this would be at place like Best Buy. The 1TB is $109 there, but HP website has the 1TB for $140. HP website has the 2TB for $250, I'm sure local retail stores have it for about $210.00
