I am sorry, but I need to ask what diagnosis it is for Nathan. I have a new grandson who has cystic fibrosis, and I am wondering if this is the sort of treatment he may someday need....

He' s an angel!!! Send him a milliom of kisses. I' m fron the south of Argentine, I got my third son with cerebral pàlsy, Santino, he got 5 years old and is a superhero. I really need this machine becouse he doesn't cough but nobody sold this machine here, perhaps en Buenos Aires. Thanks for the information and for this angel.

i love his smile :)
Nate had Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) - Type 1. He was diagnosed in December 2003 (at the age of 5 months) and fought SMA as hard as he could until he passed away on April 28, 2010. I would highly recommend the Cough Assist and The VEST for your grandson with CF. Even though Nate did not have CF, these devices really helped him and have helped many CF patients. Good luck...our prayers are with you and your family.

the first mask thing you put on him why does his nose turn all red and why does he scrunch his face
MaddieTights13 2 years ago
His face and nose turn red from the pressure of the bi-pap masks. There really is no way to avoid this. And he scrunches his face sometimes when he's trying to swallow or the pressure from the bi-pap is bothering him.

He's 5 1/2 years old. First dr. who diagnosed him said he wouldn't live to be 2. He's doing great! We take it one day at a time.

What r the settings for the Cough Assist?
Does he ever desaturate during the cough assist session?
1992peter 3 years ago
Settings are 40/40 and 1 1/2 second for inhale, pause and exhale. Sometimes he desats but it just depends on how much secretions he has. We also bleed 02 through while coughing him.
