@cmooreflute oh,you play the flute too? If you can,can i borrow the sheet music

I'm going to have to play this on the flute, just to see what it sounds like. What a beautiful rendition. Thanks for sharing. Flautist, Carol Louise

@mgbushido You wrote "someone invented the clarinet....." My comment was referring to Benny Goodman, and Artie Shaw. Two extremely popular clarinetists.

@rasrealtor ... Hi rasrealter, I'm not sure I take your point !

Let me think. Goodman ? Shaw ? ;-)

Great song, but I love the The Spencer Wyatt Big Band's version. It sounds more jazzy and a bit cheerful. Watch Jim Carey's The Majestic and you'll know what I meant.

Soprano saxophone is more expressive

This is gorgeous. Can you tell what this recording is from, i'd like to see all of it. was it on T.V or from a dvd?

Why, oh, why must I go on like this?
Shall I just be a lonely stranger on the shore?
The sighing of the waves
The wailing of the wind
The tears in my eyes burn
Pleading, "My love, return"
Why, oh, why must I go on like this?
Shall I just be a lonely stranger on the shore? Leebm29

I'm not a musician, but I do love music, and this rendition does sound rather nice.
And as for those who are arguing about the differences between the clarinet and soprano sax, Personally, I think you guys sound like band snobs. Don't take it as an insult, but rather as constructive criticism. Why not help those of us who are orchestral amateurs to appreciate the nuances instead of scathing an enjoyable rendition? Just my $0.02...
