This song was recorded in 1969 when Karen was just 19 years old. Richard says that Karen had a cold at the time and she was never happy with the recordng. They re-recorded part of the song for their 1980 television special "Music, Music, Music." He says they had discussed re-recording this song as well as several other songs off the "Ticket To Ride" album, but that Karen died before they had the chance to do so.

The video footage is taken from the movie, "Dandelion." The two actors are Vincent Kartheiser and Taryn Manning.

Someday,
rested from hours of sleeping
We'll stay
safely behind what we're keeping
You'll seem warmer than I had remembered you
Lying so close I'll be able to feel you breathe
I could never leave

One day,
when I am able to love you
I'll come
back from wherever I've been to
I'll see you
looking the same as you always have
Lovely, so lovely,
I'll cling to the love you give
So I'll start to live

Someday is coming
if I believe it
Someday always brings
the good life you knew
Ever back to you
How I need you!

Someday,
all I can give you is someday
Someday,
all I can offer is someday
Please say
that you'll be waiting when someday comes
Promise me this and a kiss,
to keep what you are
Always close to me
How I need you!

Someday,
all I can give you is someday
Someday,
all I can offer is someday
Please say
that you'll be waiting when someday comes
Promise me this and a kiss,
to keep what you are
Always close to me

Someday!

  • I read many reports Ms. Carpenter was not happy with her vocals , I heard a cold ect...

I think this is the best version.

She sang to world, now she sings for the heavens........

  • We must also pay tribute to Herb Alpert and Gerry Moss for recognising the talent in this couple knowing they might not be fashionable at the time but deserved to be heard.

  • A little past midway through this song, I always end up crying. It never fails...

  • Without a single doubt, this is the only song that takes me straight to Heaven. It so far beyond powerful that I can't even explain it.
