Driving to work in Lochaber, this morning, found the road was just too difficult for my poor wee 'Ka' to travel on safely so turned back at the junction to Invergarry. It gave me an opportunity to film my drive home again through Clunie to Kintail. Music by some friends of mine, (who are available for weddings, dances etc), Dave, John and Andy.

  • Hi fireman Vic, I live in Kyle and I manage pre-school centre's and an out of school club in the Highlands, it means I do alot of travelling around.

  • You made the right decision. But glad you filmed the beauty of it. I would have been petrified!!

  • I have more respect for my mortality these days, especially after I took a spin into one of the gullies on the road just outside of Kintail a few years ago! not something I want to do again....

  • Am sure your little Ka would have made it,We did little trip to the South of France few years back fully laden 2 adults 2kids camping gear and a wheelchair on cycle rack ,not forgetting porta loo too ! lol

  • it might have but this was at the bottom of the hill and at my heart was in my mouth by this point. I was travelling to Duror in Lochaber and then on to Lochaline, which has as even steeper hill to go over, so I decided to leave it for another day!!

  • Hi Guys, thanks. No I didn't get to go sledding, it started to melt the same day and it hasn'st stopped raining since so the snow has long gone. It was pretty while it lasted though.

  • Enjoyed your road vids, might think im nosey ,but where do you live and whats your job

  • Wise move, looked fantastic in the snow!

  • After a couple of heart stopping moments until I realized you folks drive on the wrong side of the road over there, I had a wonderful trip! Looks a bit like some of our mountain areas here in the winter in northern California. BEAUTIFUL. I'll play it in the summer when it's so bloody hot here!

  • I know the road well, I used to do a load of gigs as a musician out that way, and my Granny stayed beside Loch Duich. I remember when that road was single track the whole way from Invermoriston.

  • ..very sensible to turn round. Lovely snowscenes, in a lovely area. We copped a load of snow over here in the east last week. Travel a lot on the Kyle, Skye, Lochcarron, Torridon ... must call into the Plockton Inn.
