A classic. Bobby Bloom did some great singles for the Kama Sutra label prior to this one. When "Montego Bay" came out, he performed it on American Bandstand and told a great story about how he wrote "Heavy Makes You Happy" for the Monkees, but the Staple Singers covered it instead. Sadly, Bobby Bloom committed suicide a few years after this 1970 hit. He is greatly missed.
This video and most oldies programmers lop off the actual ending of this song, an a cappella version of "Oh! What a Beautiful Mornin'" from "Oklahoma", which is a wise choice.
What a shallow comment. I'm guessing you're a big Am. Idol fan too. Most of those people are singers who look good and not song writer/composer/singer/musicia n... who may not look like a god/goddess. I'll take the latter for AmIdols are just glorified karaoke singers.
no offense to any of them but alot of the one hit wonders from the 70's could have never made it in the video age. they just didn't have the looks for the camera. artists such as bobby bloom, king harvest, bob welch, starstruck and terry jacks are just some that were just not camera friendly. although, look at the rolling stones so i could be wrong, tho.

He could pass for a 70's porn star
