  • "It's really not acceptable to carry a gun if you can't hit the broad side of a barn" that needs to be reiterated over and over in CCW classes. Too many people think just getting the permit and buying a gun makes them capable of handling themselves in a life and death situation. It takes practice to steady your nerves, and maintain accuracy in a stressful situation.

  • "which is your right...in Pennsylvanian" I will assume he meant, "which is your right in the United States of America. However, those rights have been infringed upon in some states."

  • I like this guy. He is an excellent instructor. I am usually the first to criticize, but he covers it all very well.

Perhaps even better than the guy I learned from, who was expecting Special Forces and trained cops and deputies.

  • Hahaha Im TEXTING while watching this just like in class LOL!!!

  • everyone should watch this before carrying!!

  • Part of the biggest deterrent value is the bad guys not knowing who is carrying and who isn't. I want the bad guys to have to guess. Typically they don't have the balls to risk guessing wrong.

  • If you carry a gun, you are never required to use it in order to defend others.

  • @HumbleWillis

yeah same in minnesota. still worth the time.

  • @D0ublezer0x It actually depends on your state. Some states, like Texas, require an extensive all day class plus a qualification at a shooting range. So they not only ensure that you can hit a target, but that you're also armed with knowledge of the law and when it's best to use the weapon, and when not to.

  • @TJ347 Excellent point. Many states already have open carry, and I have yet to see a rash of criminals robbing them of their guns. I have yet to see a wild west scenario break out. Many states also have concealed carry, and there are countless cases of those individuals successfully drawing their weapon to stop a crime. No matter how many hypothetical and what-if scenarios the nay-sayers throw out, the facts already exist and are on the side of those who legally carry guns.

  • @HumbleWillis People have been talking about how open carriers will be targeted by criminals, but I'm still waiting to see a shred of evidence that this has happened. If I say concealed carriers will be shot by a BG while trying to retrieve their firearm, I would think the concealed carry crowd would want to see some proof of this. However, the difference is that I would never present my unsupported opinion as a fact.

  • I'm from Wisconsin, which was exclusively OC until recently (CC starts 11-1-11). Often, when the cops saw someone OCing, even in an orderly manner and on his own property, they'd react with a disorderly conduct ticket...the cops would freak out on the guy. A few court challenges put a stop to this nonsense, but that tells me that if the cops are easily spooked by OC, imagine what the peasants must feel. I've OCed without incident for a couple of years, after the court challenges however.
