  • I performed at this Tournament with The Marching Koalas from Australia, I wonder if you might have it and be able to upload it here, would very much appreciate if you could. Great memories. I'm sure there are plenty of others who would love to see it too. :)

  • I did this twice in 77 and 78 and am ashamed that they stopped it, the best part was when the wrns did a hornpipe dance to the tune of Portsmouth by Mike Oldfield, that has stuck with me forever. I thought that the tune as they were climbing the mast was dressing the mast but I might be wrong. Any RBB boys out there who know from an ex crabfat? Just bring it back!!!!

  • @mrpivoman sounds like, Nancy Lee & Westering Home,

  • Does anyone have any idea what the music is called as the lads are Manning the Mast?

  • Does nayone have any idea what the music is called as the lads are Manning the Mast?

  • There is only one place do do this properly and thats HMS Ganges, this is a watered down ceremony. Shame that the Navy is a shadow of its former self, My Dads prediiction is coming true that one day we will not have a Navy.

  • so proud of my son , a royal navy engineer

  • Amazing that in about 10yrs after ganges closed the mast and the service in general was much reduced nice to revive it but it was not the same. I have not seen this before today. My father was button boy 1939/40 Ganges. He loved the place, used to read the Gazettes He kept when I was small

  • Good to hear that! All the best for the future. The Royal Navy is the best.
