  • I found the dialogue here, even though it is only a 48 second clip, one of the most profound and best written. I think it speaks alot, to alot of people (whether it be they themselves or people that they know and have come in contact with). It also says the importance of what love actually should be and represents. Thanks for posting.

  • No problem. It meant a lot to me, a terrifying yet accurate representation of my 20s.

  • This is such a beautiful scene; we see just how flawed this person really is. Wonderfully played.

  • Her speech puts much importance on self esteem. Maybe in this scene it's accurate, because the Nicholson character thinks ill of himself and uses that as reason to sabotage his chances in life. But more important part is the low regard and concern he has for others. Basically he's a jerk.

  • @MuizeekPhanahtic it was a shocking thing to me when i was watching this part too. It was well written. I wish my ex would watch this...then he would at least be aware of his Self. Then nobody would have to tell 'em. I wish I had a chance to say the exact same thing to him.

  • What she said isn't fair though. He had great love for his sister, and for his father, but he felt misunderstood and unrecognized nearly his whole life. How he was isn't his fault, and he was able to love, she was just being a scared and snobbish little girl.

  • Yes thankyou for posting. Here is a man who is lost. But she isn't able to take a risk, and I think that is what is the great loss. And I think this is part of the huge complexity of this film. None of his family makes that jump, beside his sister partially. Here is a man who knows there is something else, yet his family see him as failed. The great failure of high culture, is to never see that anything else exists; low culture and its lives are fine without you, well perhaps not.

  • great stuff

  • fantastic

  • She was in a Woody Allen film "Play it again Sam "
