From the August 21, 1993 USWA program. This is a segment of Jerry Lawler's King's Court segment taped in Boston specifically for the USWA. Vince McMahon is the guest.

Things start fairly straight forward with Lawler doing his WWF heel act and Vince being good guy announcer. But notice what happens around the 3:00 mark. Vince and Lawler switch roles. Vince's delivery changes to subtle heel. Lawler starts to slip into his Memphis voice. Thing go back to the regular WWF characters at the 6:00 mark. I wonder what the Boston crowd made of this.

  • @stockmaster1982 I agree. I thought Vince was at his best when he was the suave, urbane heel like he was here and in the early stages of his feud with Stone Cold rather than the over the top cartoon character he became.

  • @adrift923 Actually, that is what Vince said. He said it WON'T be a happy meal.

  • Peeps have no idea how extraordinarily difficult this was to obtain back in the day.

  • @adrift923 Buger King sells only microwaved smiles on buns

  • the king is bankrupt...hahah

  • The referee was Paul Neighbors. Funny thing about what Lawler was saying was, it was actually true that Neighbors, a heel, screwed the babyface Lawler in Memphis, where to the Boston fans, it was Lawler being a typical heel complaining the ref screwed him when the ref (to the Boston fans) likely did a fair job in the match they assumed. Very cool angle

  • @sexykevytyler 'where Shawn Micheals always cries'. Awsome comment!

  • Did the WWF air this when it was made? I seem to have a slight memory of this segment, because I didn't live in the Memphis area and didn't see any of the local matches, so I didn't realize Lawler has the good guy there.

  • at least vince took a more active role back in the WWF days. I mean he actually had matches now and then with other people and took part of promos. These days he's more of a background character.

  • @stockmaster1982 Well of course..Vince was younger and more innovative back in the day.
